Fiberglass Replacement Window Manufacturers
Many people choose to upgrade when replacing old, worn windows. With this in mind, let’s take a look at the various fiberglass replacement window manufacturers.Windows have traditionally been made from wood. Then aluminum products were introduced and those were followed by vinyl. Next came a host of hybrid products. All were produced in the grand search for a window that was stable, beautiful and would last for a long time while suffering the ravages of weather, temperature change and sunlight. Many believe fiberglass windows fit that bill. Although the most expensive window material, they seem to have no real downside which makes them a great upgrade for most homes.
Marvin Windows is really the only fiberglass replacement window manufacturer that has a line of products devoted to just this subject. Marvin has the Infinity Replacement Windows line. The windows are made out of Ultrex, which is a form of fiberglass that is touted as being durable, long lasting and maintenance free. The frames can be stained to match wood finishes in your home. They can also be custom made to fit particular niches you’ve created.
Before you rush off to Marvin, it is important to know that many other window manufacturers make fiberglass windows. They just don’t have specific lines devoted to replacement situations. That being said, nearly all of their basic lines can be used for replacement products. This goes for companies such as Pella, Milgard, Anderson and so on. Fiberglass is the big thing these days, so nearly everyone has it.
Are there any drawbacks to fiberglass replacement windows? Yes, there are two. The first is the price. You can expect to spend as much as 30 percent more than you would for an alternative material. Second, fiberglass windows are all the rage because they are supposed to last forever. That being said, nobody has actually seen this occur. There is no way to rush the passage of time, so we may all find that fiberglass wasn’t such a great idea 10 years down the line. Since most come with a warranty, it really isn’t that big of a deal in my opinion.
